 My Experience With Intermittent Fasting;


A while ago a friend told me about intermittent fasting (IF) for weight loss. I was interested since I had been trying to lose 10 pounds without success.


I learned about the 16:8 method of IF where you fast for 16 hours a day and eat within an 8-hour window. I started by fasting from 8pm until noon the next day. It was hard at first to not eat in the mornings! But after a week my body adjusted.


During the eating window, I focused on healthy foods like vegetables, fruits, proteins and fats. I cut out sugary treats and mindless snacking.


Working out while fasting was a challenge. I had to switch my workout time to the afternoon after eating. It took some experimenting to figure out.


After a couple months my clothes fit better had more energy. I lost those 10 stubborn pounds through IF! Beyond weight loss, IF made me more aware of when and what I choose to eat.


Now I do a 16:8 fast most days as part of my routine. Occasionally I'll do a longer 20 hour fast. IF taught me how to control hunger and not just eat out of habit. I feel healthier and in control of my eating.
